The community teams get started
A “community team” is an informal group organized by people like you from one community or another (or from none in particular), who invite their friends and acquaintances to take part in a discussion about sex, health and prevention for men who have sex with men. In participating, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about different prevention options while sharing your points of view. These community team discussions will help to identify priorities for the MOBILISE! project to improve access to combination prevention.
During the summer of 2015, four pilot community teams were created who helped us finalize our discussion methods and materials. We are now aiming to recruit a diverse range of team leaders and participants. Participation is flexible and you can take part in the project’s activities on a one-time, occasional or regular basis.
Team leaders will receive training as well as financial compensation. Their job will be to put together a discussion group and document the opinions and experiences shared by participants. These discussions will provide important insights on how to strengthen the fight against HIV using the full range of options that are now available.
